La Légion d’honneur se distribue aujourd’hui à tour de bras à tous les amis du Pouvoir en place. Ce 14 juillet, Mourad Boudjellal a donc été fait chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.
Rappelons rapidement qui est Mourad Boudjellal. Cet homme d’affaires dirige le club de rugby de Toulon. Mais il se mêle aussi volontiers de politique.
Se présentant comme un « homme de gauche » favorable à la « mondialisation », et déclarant avec arrogance qu’il porte au poignet une montre à 150.000 euros, il annonçait en octobre 2015 soutenir Christian Estrosi, candidat Les Républicains aux élections régionales.
C’est aussi un opposant acharné au Front national et à tout ce qui s’approche de près ou de loin de la droite nationale. En 2014, il refusait un match amical contre Béziers après l’élection de Robert Ménard à la tête de la ville.
Marine Le Pen avait décrit Mourad Boudjellal comme « un énorme bobo millionnaire qui nous aligne les préjugés les plus ringards, les plus éculés, de la pseudo-lutte antifasciste qu’il doit mener dans sa baignoire en or. » Mourad Boudjellal avait ensuite porté plainte contre Marine Le Pen pour propos injurieux, mais il avait été débouté par le tribunal correctionnel de Toulon.
Durant la campagne présidentielle de 2017, Mourad Boudjelal était intervenu lors du meeting d’Emmanuel Macron à Paris, lui affirmant publiquement son soutien. Le 11 mai 2017, Mourad Boudjellal avait été investi par La République En Marche pour être candidat aux élections législatives de 2017 dans la 1re circonscription du Var, mais il avait cependant démenti cette information et le parti de Macron avait reconnu avoir fait une erreur dans le communiqué de presse.
