Arrivés à Moscou le 6 janvier dernier, les cadeaux offerts par les rois-mages à l’Enfant-Jésus à Bethléem ont quitté la capitale russe le 13 pour être acheminée à Saint-Pétersbourg où ils pourront être admirés jusqu’au 17 janvier. Les reliques seront ensuite exposées à Minsk et à Kiev.
L’enthousiasme de la population russe est tel que le bilan final de l’exposition des cadeaux des rois-mages dans la cathédrale du Christ-Sauveur est de 412 000 visiteurs ! Ceux-ci ont fait jusqu’à douze heures de file pour pouvoir contempler l’or, l’encens et la myrrhe offerts à Jésus dans la crèche. En outre, plus de 12 000 policiers ont dû se relayer pour assurer la sécurité de l’événement tandis que 93 bus ont été disposés par la mairie de Moscou le long de la file d’attente de plusieurs kilomètres afin d’offrir aux pèlerins l’occasion de se réchauffer et de se reposer.
