Nouvelle victoire pour le grand marché global : le gouvernement coréen a annoncé mardi un projet pour développer la présence des nourritures casher et halal.
Le journal Korea Times annonce que suite à une rencontre avec le président Park Guen-hye, le gouvernement coréen fournira un « soutien administratif et technique » pour aider les producteurs d’aliments et de cosmétiques casher et halal à s’implanter en Corée.
Le ministère coréen de la Stratégie et des Finances a déclaré que le marché halal global, destiné aux musulmans pratiquants, augmente rapidement et devrait atteindre au niveau mondial les 5,2 millions de milliards de dollars d’ici 2020. Il évalue le marché casher mondial à environ 250 milliards de dollars.
Jusqu’à présent, seules 25 entreprises ont obtenu des certifications casher en Corée du Sud.
Le gouvernement coréen a promis de fournir aux fabricants de produits alimentaires des glossaires casher et de les encourager à assister au Kosherfest, une importante foire aux produits cashers organisée tous les ans à New York. Les initiatives halal semblent être un peu plus avancées. Selon le ministère, environ 300 entreprises coréennes ont déjà une certification halal, principalement accordée par la Fédération musulmane coréenne.
Le journal Korea Times ne précise pas si, comme en France, les principaux fabricants de produits halal en Corée seront en réalité des entreprises juives.
