La décision est prise : le pape François l’a annoncé au cours du consistoire public, tenu mardi 15 mars 2016. Mère Teresa sera « canonisée » le dimanche 4 septembre prochain. La cérémonie se tiendra place Saint-Pierre et non en Inde comme l’avaient demandé les évêques du pays.
Parce que Mère Teresa est « un exemple universel. Au niveau de notre Swami Vivekananda, du Mahatma Gandhi, de Nelson Mandela et de Desmond Tutu. » explique son ami, Navin Chawla. De confession hindoue, écrivain, haut fonctionnaire au Ministère de la communication de New Delhi et un des plus célèbres biographes de la religieuse, il a fréquenté Mère Teresa pendant 23 ans et continue à soutenir son œuvre envers les plus démunis. Il est resté rigoureusement hindou et tient à le rappeler. Et tient à rappeler que Mère Teresa refusait de faire de l’apostolat catholique auprès des pauvres d’Inde.
Dans une interview accordée à Vatican Insider, il témoigne d’une Mère Teresa devenue une figure emblématique de la nouvelle religion issue du concile Vatican II qui prône le salut par toutes les religions et donc une « évangélisation » qui bannit les conversions au catholicisme.
A la question du journaliste sur le sujet : « Jusqu’à peu de temps, Mère Teresa a été accusée par les fondamentalistes hindous des Rss et par des militants du Bjp, aujourd’hui au gouvernement, d’avoir de force converti beaucoup de pauvres au christianisme, même quand ils étaient malades, sur le point de mourir, ou des orphelins à adopter. » il répond : « Il n’existe même pas un seul témoignage qui confirme ces inventions. Elle n’avait aucun besoin de convertir. Parce que, pour elle, l’enfant pauvre abandonné dans la rue était Jésus. Le lépreux était Jésus. Le moribond était Jésus. Il n’y avait aucun besoin de convertir quelqu’un qui était déjà Jésus. »
Réflexion du journaliste : « Une vision panthéiste et un peu hindou, pour dire la vérité. »
Oui, paroles de vérité. Mais paroles qui en dise lonf sur la grande générosité de cette religieuse mais qui nient à Mère Teresa une sainteté catholique. Conciliaire, certainement, mais pas catholique !
