Les soldats de la Queen’s Guard chargés d’assurer la protection des résidences royales officielles au Royaume-Uni sont en état d’alerte suite à des rapports concernant le risque d’une attaque planifiée par des militants de l’Etat islamique.
Les soldats du régiment qui entoure la Reine ont été mis en garde contre la menace de kidnapper et assassiner un de leurs membres.
Les services de renseignement britanniques prennent très au sérieux des menaces repérées sur les réseaux sociaux. S’en prendre à un membre de la famille royale serait très difficile, mais atteindre l’un des gardes de la reine représenterait déjà un symbole énorme pour la propagande de l’Etat Islamique.
Des mesures ont été prises en conséquence. La menace est si aigue que certains postes de garde ont déjà été déplacés.
Les gardes des Palais St. James et Clarence House sont maintenant déployés derrière les grilles et non plus à l’extérieur, fait unique depuis la fondation du régiment.
