Comme c’était prévisible, tous les médias s’emparent de la bataille entre le CRIF et Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
L’avocat Francis Kalifat, président du CRIF, organisation communautariste juive, compare Jean-Luc Mélenchon, dirigeant du parti d’extrême gauche La France Insoumise, à Jacques Doriot (ancien communiste devenu fondateur du PPF puis engagé volontaire sur le Front de l’Est durant la seconde guerre mondiale).
Quant à Christophe Castaner, ministre de l’Intérieur, il a qualifié les propos de Mélenchon de « choquants et inappropriés à notre débat républicain ». « La haine et le complotisme se nourrissent de sous-entendus douteux et de préjugés nauséabonds », a ajouté le ministre de l’Intérieur.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon a aussitôt répliqué : « Castaner l’éborgneur bave de vieilles ficelles de politiciens en déroute : l’insinuation pour mendier des soutiens communautaires ».
