L’information est discrètement relevée par les médias communautaires juifs : Matt Nosanchuk quitte son poste d’agent de liaison juif de la Maison Blanche.
Car, vous ne le saviez peut-être pas, la Maison Blanche compte très officiellement un service intitulé White House Jewish Liaison chargé, comme son nom l’indique, de faire directement le lien entre la communauté juive et le président des Etats-Unis. On trouve officiellement trace de ce service depuis la présidence de Jimmy Carter.
Or Matt Nosanchuk était le chef de ce service depuis 2013. Avant cela, lors du premier mandat de Barack Obama, Matt Nosanchuk était l’un de ses conseillers sur les dossiers LGBT. Matt Nosanchuk, membre de la congrégation reconstructionniste Adat Shalom, est aussi un activiste homosexuel.
Le 24 mars 2016, la Maison Blanche publiait très officiellement une photo de Matt Nosanchuk assistant à une lecture de la Méguila de Pourim dans une salle de réception diplomatique de la Maison Blanche.
C’est aussi Nosanchuk qui a donné plus d’ampleur à la fête annuelle de Hanoukka organisée à la Maison Blanche.
Le nom de son successeur n’a pas encore été annoncé.
