Mark Zuckerberg et Jack Dorsey ont de nouveau été auditionnés par le Sénat, mardi 17 novembre 2020.
Comme ce fut le cas il y a trois semaines, les questions devraient porter sur la question de la modération des contenus sur Facebook et Twitter.
Il faut dire que les deux réseaux sociaux ont été au cœur de l’attention depuis la fin du mois d’octobre. Donald Trump affirme en effet que les démocrates ont truqué l’élection et ses partisans ont fait tourner le message. Facebook et Twitter ont réagi en modérant ces publications.
La firme de Mark Zuckerberg est même allé plus loin en supprimant certains groupes, dont le plus fameux d’entre eux « Stop the Steal » (Arrêtez ce vol) qui comptait déjà plus de 300 000 membres. Le réseau social a aussi décidé de bloquer certains hashtags fréquemment utilisé tels que #CrookedJoeBiden, #CrookedDem, #CoupdEtat, #ElectionMeddling, #DemocratsAreDestroyingAmerica.
Les républicains estiment que ces plateformes, en faveur du vote démocrate, censurent leurs opinions. C’est dans ce contexte tumultueux que Jack Dorsey et Mark Zuckerberg se présentent devant les membres du Comité judiciaire du Sénat.
Lors de son audition le 17 novembre, le PDG de FaceBook, Mark Zuckerberg, s’est trouvé en mauvaise posture et incapable de répondre sereinement aux questions du jeune et implacable sénateur Josh Hawley. Un coupable ne se serait pas mieux dévoilé…
