Encore un mouvement au bord de l’implosion ? Sens Commun, antenne de La Manif Pour Tous au sein du parti Les Républicains, se livre à une foire d’empoigne interne à la suite d’une communication « mal interprétée » de son président Christophe Billan au sujet de Marion Maréchal-Le Pen.

Signe de la tension, ce communiqué diffusé en date du 10 octobre avec pour titre « Sens Commun ne tend pas la main au Front National« .

Tout commence avec l’entretien que le président de Sens Commun Christophe Billan a accordé au nouveau mensuel L’Incorrect. Dans le numéro d’octobre de ce magazine « de toute les droites », selon sa propre définition, comme il se définit lui-même, Christophe Billan explique d’abord rester chez Les Républicains parce que Sens Commun redoute « les jeux d’appareil du Front national » et « sa capacité à hystériser le débat en dévoyant nos valeurs ». Mais Christophe Billan ajoute qu’il ne « redoute pas en soi la plupart des thématiques du Front national : les notions de patrie, d’identité, d’État-nation, de contrôle des frontières ».

Ensuite, Christophe Billan adresse un appel du pied à Marion Maréchal-Le Pen :

Il ne faut s’interdire de parler avec personne et il faudra bien aller parler aux électeurs de droite qui ont quitté LR. Nous avons parlé avec Marion Maréchal-Le Pen et nous l’avons assumé. Le problème de Marion Maréchal-Le Pen reste le nom Le Pen et non la plupart de ses idées. […] Si Marion Maréchal-Le Pen vient demain avec ses idées, rejoindre une plateforme, cela ne me posera aucun problème.

Voilà qui n’a pas plu à tout le monde chez Sens Commun. Au point de nécessiter le communiqué ci-dessus.

En marge, Sébastien Pilard, co-fondateur de Sens Commun aujourd’hui élu de la région Pays de la Loire, s’est indigné sur Europe 1 des déclarations faites par Christophe Billan. Sébastien Pilard avait déjà pris ses distances avec Sens Commun à l’occasion de la primaire de la droite, à l’automne 2016 mais il conserve une certaine influence et condamne par l’entremise d’un communiqué la déclaration de Christophe Billan qu’il juge être « une faute politique ».

Parler à tous les Français évidemment mais envisager une alliance avec le FN serait contre-productive et contraire aux principes fondateurs de Sens Commun (…)

Il [Christophe Billan] participe à la cornérisation des convictions que nous sommes nombreux à porter au sein des LR. Il fait le jeu de tous ceux qui pensent que les convictions que nous portons n’ont plus leur place au sein de LR alors qu’elles sont largement partagées par nos militants. Il est finalement l’idiot utile de Solère, Darmanin & cie.
