La société américaine Vireo Health, qui figure parmi les cinq entreprises autorisées à commercialiser la marijuana dans l’Etat de New York, est fière d’annoncer que ses produits sont désormais certifiés cacher par l’Orthodox Union.
Les rabbins de l’Orthodox Union ont visité la chaîne de production afin de vérifier que cette substance ne pose aucun souci en matière de cacheroute.
Ari Hoffnung, vice-président de Vireo Health, a déclaré aux médias : « Etre certifié cacher par l’Orthodox Union ne va pas simplement nous aider à répondre aux besoins de la plus grande communauté juive des Etats-Unis mais aussi de combattre les préjugés associés au cannabis médical.«
A la veille de la fête de Pessah, le journal israélien Haaretz avait déjà publié de nombreux articles sur l’autorisation de fumer de « l’herbe » pendant cette période. Détail amusant , la plus part des rabbins qui ont évoqué le problème avec les journalistes ont cependant préférer demeurer dans l’anonymat.
« La Marijuana est cachère toute l’année donc je ne vois pas pourquoi elle ne le serait pas pendant la fête de Pessah, donc vous pouvez fumer sans problème mais vous ne devez pas oublier que c’est dangereux pour la santé », précisait l’un des rabbins.
