Le 8 mai en Italie on fête les Mamans. Les catholiques sont descendus dans la rue pour dire non à l’avortement.
Ils étaient plus d’un millier à ce retrouver à Rome pour une marche pour la vie dans la capitale italienne. Parti de la Bouche de la Vérité, ils sont arrivé à midi place Saint-Pierre au moment du Regina Coeli du pape François qui les a salués.
Différentes délégations de pays étrangers étaient également présentes : Polonais, Néo-Zélandais, canadiens, argentins, chiliens qui ces derniers jours ont protesté dans leur pays contre la loi pro-avortement.
« Nous voulons créer une culture de la vie en Italie et dire non à la loi sur l’avortement qui jusqu’à maintenant a tué 5 millions et 700 mille enfants. » « La loi Cirinnà fait partie d’un processus de loi, avortement, divorce, qui sont contre la famille et contre la vie. » a expliqué un porte-parole de la marche.
En plus de quelques hommes politiques, l’avocat Gianfranco Amato, un des animateurs du Family Day et tête de liste du nouveau parti, Peuple pour la famille, et d’Alfredo Iorio, candidat aux élections municipales pour le Mouvement Social et Forza Nuova, de nombreux prêtres, séminaristes, religieuses ont défilé. Place Saint-Pierre, dans le cortège au premier rang, est apparu Mgr Athanasius Schneider.
On peut regretter cependant que cette marche pour la vie n’ait pas été accompagné par la récitation du chapelet mais par des chants et des danses animés par des séminaristes et des sœurs, au son du tam-tam, des tambourins et de rythmes endiablés. Leur slogan « La vie est sacrée » aurait pu être mieux exprimé !
