La nouvelle pièce de théâtre de Bernard-Henri Lévy, Hôtel Europe, adaptation du livre éponyme, bénéficiait dès le départ du soutien de tous les réseaux de la BHL connection. François Hollande, Manuel Valls et Nicolas Sarkozy ont notamment payé de leur personne en s’affichant aux premières représentations. Et les médias du système en rajoutaient en affirmant, comme Le Point, qu’Hôtel Europe affichait complet.
Pourtant, lancée le 11 septembre et initialement programmée jusqu’au 3 janvier 2015, la pièce Hôtel Europe cessera les représentations le 16 novembre, faute de public. De profundis.
Cet échec de BHL est intéressant à observer car il montre les limites de l’influence du Pouvoir et de ses cercles affidés. Il ne suffit plus d’orchestrer un barnum pour manipuler l’opinion publique. Du moins, cela ne marche plus à tous les coups.
En fait, on peut même dire que cela marche de moins en moins pour BHL qui se paye flop après flop. En 2012, son interminable film monologue Le Serment de Tobrouk, présenté – merci les amis ! – en sélection officielle au festival de Cannes, hors compétition, s’était joliment planté : à peine 2.450 entrées sur toute la France.
