En Belgique comme en France, la logique capitaliste a encouragé les commerçants des centres urbains à ouvrir le dimanche. Dans une société de consommation sans autre boussole que le veau d’or, il n’y a plus place ni pour la pratique religieuse ni pour la vie familiale.
Mais à Bruxelles, les boutiques du principal centre commercial, le City 2 situé rue Neuve, ont décidé de faire marche arrière et de baisser à nouveau les volets le dimanche.
Au bout d’un an d’ouverture dominicale, le bilan s’impose : ce n’est pas assez rentable. En fait, c’est du simple bon sens : ce n’est pas parce que les magasins seront ouverts 7 jours sur 7, 24h sur 24, que les gens auront plus d’argent à dépenser. Bienvenue dans le retour au réel !
