En visite officielle en Algérie, Emmanuel Macron veut aller au contact de la population. Il est alors interpellé par un jeune Algérien qui, sur un ton insolent, tente la rengaine anticolonialiste destinée à culpabiliser les Français.
“J’évite de venir vous voir ? J’évite de dire ce qui s’est passé ? Mais il s’est passé des choses, comme je l’ai dit… Il y a des gens qui ont vécu des histoires d’amour ici. Il y a des gens, Français qui aiment encore terriblement l’Algérie, qui ont contribué et qui ont fait des belles choses, il y en a qui ont fait des choses atroces. On a cette histoire entre nous mais moi j’en suis pas prisonnier. Mais vous, vous avez quel âge ?”
Le jeune Algérien arrogant répond qu’il a 25 ans.
Macron réplique alors :
“Mais vous n’avez jamais connu la colonisation ! Qu’est-ce que vous venez m’embrouiller avec ça ? Vous votre génération, elle doit regarder l’avenir !”
