Né en 1932, le comédien irlandais Peter O’Toole est décédé le 14 décembre dernier. Cet acteur connut un succès mondial en incarnant Lawrence d’Arabie, dans un film mémorable dont le tournage dura deux ans.
Pas un média n’a rappelé à cette occasion que l’un des derniers rôles de cet acteur, avant de se retirer de la vie professionnelle, avait été celui d’un prêtre catholique fusillé par l’armée mexicaine un peu avant que ne débute l’épopée des Cristeros. Pas une chaîne de télévision n’a estimé utile de rendre hommage à cet acteur en diffusant For Greater Glory, ce film boycotté par les distributeurs cinématographiques européens.
Un film qui mérite d’être vu et qui bénéficie de la participation d’acteurs célèbres (dont Eva Longoria) mais dont le tort est de vouloir faire connaître à nos contemporains l’audacieuse révolte des catholiques mexicains face à un gouvernement maçonnique viscéralement anticatholique.
