Tandis que les Etats-Unis ont annoncé qu’ils allaient livrer de l’armement à l’Ukraine, le major Alexandre Zakhartchenko, Premier ministre de la République du Donetsk, a annoncé son intention de mobiliser 100.000 hommes.
Lors d’une conférence de presse à Donetsk, Zakhartchenko a fait savoir qu’il était prêt à ne pas poursuivre de nouvelles offensives à la condition que Kiev reconnaisse l’indépendance des territoires pro-russes déjà sous contrôle des milices pro-russes.
« Nous n’avons pas besoin de sang. Nous sommes prêts à nous arrêter, mais seulement si nous restons où nous nous trouvons maintenant ».
Alexandre Zakhartchenko a également déclaré que l’Ukraine est aux mains de « représentants pitoyables du grand peuple juif ».
