Un américain de quarante-deux ans, Luke Aikins, s’est jeté dans le vide d’une altitude de 7 600 m sans parachute. Après une chute libre de 2 minutes à plus de 190 km/h, il a été réceptionné par un filet spécialement conçu pour amortir sa chute !
Si l’exploit sportif est remarquable, il faut dire qu’une telle action présente un aspect scandaleux, cet homme ayant mis sa vie en jeu pour un plaisir et un exploit égoïste.
