A l’initiative de l’UDC (droite nationale), les Suisses s’exprimeront par référendum le 9 février 2014 pour freiner ou non l’immigration massive. Réunie en congrès extraordinaire samedi dernier, l’UDC a lancé sa campagne « Stopper l’immigration massive » qui prépare ce référendum. Durant ce congrès, les orateurs de l’UDC ont tiré à boulets rouges sur l’accord de libre circulation des personnes avec l’Union européenne (UE).
L’initiative populaire vise à réintroduire des plafonds annuels à l’immigration ainsi que des contingents pour les autorisations de séjour en Suisse. Ces limites s’appliqueraient aussi aux frontaliers et aux requérants d’asile.
Plusieurs partis, comme le PS, les Verts, le PDC et le PBD, ainsi que des milieux d’affaires à la recherche de main d’œuvre étrangère bon marché, ont sans surprise annoncé appeler à voter contre le texte présenté par l’UDC.
Les pseudo-élites politiques et économiques « perdent toujours plus le sens des réalités », a estimé Toni Brunner, président de l’UDC. Pour le parti, la forte immigration des dernières années est la cause de nombreux problèmes. La Suisse doit pouvoir dire qui peut venir et combien de personnes elle veut accueillir, selon le conseiller national Luzi Stamm. Une immigration ciblée apporte la richesse alors que si elle n’est pas contrôlée, elle engendre la pauvreté.
Le comité central de l’UDC a adopté vendredi à Altishofen (LU) les mots d’ordre pour les deux autres objets des votations du 9 février. Par 53 voix contre 2, il recommande au peuple de refuser le règlement du financement et de l’aménagement de l’infrastructure ferroviaire (FAIF). Le parti soutient en revanche par 50 voix contre 12 l’initiative visant à supprimer l’avortement du catalogue des prestations remboursées par l’assurance maladie de base.
