Un responsable de l’OTAN a déclaré aujourd’hui qu’il n’a remarqué aucun signe du retrait des troupes russes à la frontière ukrainienne, qui auraient regagné leurs bases permanentes selon les dires du ministre russe de la Défense Sergueï Choïgou. Les menaces continueront contre la Russie si, selon les Occidentaux, elle ne respecte pas l’accord de Genève.
Pourtant l’OTAN, de son côté, n’a pas cessé ses provocations et envoie des troupes vers les frontières russes. C’est ainsi qu’une compagnie de 150 hommes de la 173e brigade aéroportée de l’armée américaine est arrivée lundi en Estonie. Voilà qui fait suite au déploiement de 450 autres soldats pour des exercices avec la Pologne et les pays baltes. De son côté, la France a envoyé quatre Rafale en Pologne et déployé cent hommes pour une durée de quatre mois. L’armée de l’air canadienne a envoyé quant à elle aujourd’hui six CF-18 en Roumanie. L’US Air Force a mobilisé 12 F-16 en Pologne et 6 F-15 en Lituanie.
On voudrait après que la Russie ne se sente pas agressée alors qu’on envoie des forces occidentales à sa frontière. L’apaisement passe par les deux parties et non de manière unilatérale à moins que les Américains ne cherchent, eux aussi, l’affrontement pour affaiblir à nouveau la Russie.
