Hier, à Moirans, des émeutes organisées par des « gens du voyage » ont été suivies d’une mutinerie au centre de détention d’Alton, près d’Albertville. Pour obtenir que deux détenus puissent assister à un enterrement, des voitures ont été incendiées, des routes bloquées, des voies de chemins de fer saccagées et une centaine d’individus armés de barres de fer ont défié la police.
C’est la seconde émeute de ce genre en peu de temps.
Combien faudra-t-il encore d’inacceptables violences causées par des « gens du voyage » pour que l’Etat français leur fasse comprendre une fois pour toutes qu’ils ne sont pas au-dessus des lois ?
Jusqu’à présent, hélas, la faiblesse de la réponse de l’Etat apparaît plutôt comme un encouragement pour ces populations qui ne comprennent que le rapport de force.
En France, environ 400.000 personnes sont officiellement recensées comme « gens du voyage et Roms ». Un chiffre bien en-dessous de la réalité.
