Roger Lambelin (1857-1929) est un écrivain, journaliste et militant royaliste français. En 1872, il adhère aux cercles catholiques ouvriers cofondés par Albert de Mun. En 1876, il intègre l’Ecole spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr et fait partie de la promotion de Plewna, en compagnie de plusieurs futurs personnages illustres parmi lesquels Philippe Pétain et Charles de Foucauld. Cofondateur en 1889 de la Jeunesse royaliste, il rejoint dès les débuts l’Action française.
Son livre L’impérialisme d’Israël paraît pour la première fois chez Grasset en 1924 et tend à démontrer l’action d’Israël dans tous les domaines, économiques, sociaux, politiques. Cette étude examine particulièrement l’influence d’Israël dans les pays anglo-saxons, dans l’Europe orientale, en Russie, en Allemagne, en Autriche, en Italie, en Grèce, en Turquie et en France. L’ouvrage s’appuie sur une abondante documentation référencée et sur des citations précises. Ainsi, l’expression « impérialisme d’Israël » est d’ailleurs revendiquée dans diverses publications juives que cite Roger Lambelin, dont l’Almanach national juif pour l’année 5682 (1821-1822) publié en Autriche, dans lequel le rabbin viennois Z.P. Chajes, membre de la loge « Massadok » affiliée au B’naï B’rith, fait l’éloge de cet « impérialisme juif ».
Un chapitre très intéressant est consacré à la question palestinienne. Roger Lambelin rappelle qu’en novembre 1917, Arthur Balfour, chef du Foreign Office, promettait par une lettre adressée à Lord Rothschild, de favoriser de tout son pouvoir l’établissement en Palestine d’un « foyer national pour le peuple juif ». Roger Lambelin analyse avec pertinence la politique anglaise à ce sujet.
