Mark Elchardus, est un sociologue bruxellois qui enseigne à l’université flamande VUB.
Il vient d’accorder une interview à un magazine belge dont quelques passages méritent d’être retenus. Rien de vraiment neuf, si ce n’est que de tels propos sont rarement entendus dans la bouche de professeurs en poste.
Invité à donner son avis sur l’histoire de l’immigration en Belgique, il parle d’une « accumulation de terribles erreurs« .
. « Pour commencer, on pensait que la culture et la religion n’entraient pas en ligne de compte dans l’intégration. La seconde bêtise est d’avoir cru que ces personnes repartiraient dans leur pays d’origine ».
. « Ensuite il y a eu le regroupement familial. Une idée qui partait d’une bonne intention, mais qui a rendu l’immigration immaîtrisable. Et les gens qui s’en plaignaient étaient considérés comme racistes. »
. « Il est insensé de penser que tous les musulmans deviendront laïques s’ils ne se sentent plus exclus ».
. « Aux Pays-Bas, on voit que les plus jeunes générations se radicalisent de plus en plus. »
