Le fameux Camp des Saints, roman d’anticipation qui a eu le succès que l’on sait, est plus que jamais d’actualité. Tous les prétextes sont bons pour émigrer en Europe : persécution, insécurité, discrimination, pauvreté. Ils sont de plus en plus nombreux à être candidats à une installation confortable dans une opulente Europe au grand cœur et à la mauvaise conscience. Mauvaise conscience de quoi ? Mais d’exister tout bonnement à côté d’une insondable misère à laquelle elle ne peut rien, mais qui la tourmente malgré tout.
Yves-Marie Laulan, économiste, démographe et géopoliticien, a enseigné à l’ENA, à l’Institut d’études politiques de Paris, à l’université Paris Dauphine et à l’Ecole supérieure de guerre. Aujourd’hui, il préside l’Institut de Géopolitique des Populations. Cet ouvrage dont il assure la présentation constitue les Actes du colloque organisé par cet institut le 3 avril 2014. Visionnaire, Yves-Marie Laulan y posait les bonnes questions. Les mois suivants, il fut rattrapé par une actualité devenue banalement quotidienne. L’immigration clandestine est un puits sans fond. Demain, ils seront des millions si rien n’est fait. Mais les dirigeants européens font l’autruche.
Jean-Paul Gourevitch, André Pertuzio, Philippe Millau, André Posokhow, Jean-Yves Le Gallou, Philippe Randa, Françoise Monestier et Guy Vidal participent avec Yves-Marie Laulan à cette analyse du bouleversement en cours, examinent les mécanismes de cette immigration et ses coûts, et envisagent quels remèdes pourraient être appliqués.
