Ces dix fonctionnaires avaient été enlevés le 12 juin par une milice armée libyenne, et leur libération a été annoncée vendredi par le chef de la diplomatie tunisienne, Mr Taïeb Baccouche.
«Tous ont été libérés et arriveront aujourd’hui» vendredi en Tunisie, a-t-il indiqué à la radio Mosaïque FM. Sept Tunisiens ont été libérés vendredi matin et trois l’ont été mercredi.
Selon des médias et responsables tunisiens, les dix fonctionnaires avaient été enlevés par une milice liée à Fajr Libya, une coalition de milices qui contrôle Tripoli, réclamant la libération d’un de ses chefs, Walid Glib, emprisonné en Tunisie en mai. Le parquet le soupçonne d’être impliqué dans «des affaires terroristes». Une cour d’appel a décidé mercredi de son expulsion, tout en se réservant le droit de le convoquer pour un éventuel procès.
Celui-ci doit être expulsé incessamment vers Tripoli à la suite d’une décision en ce sens mercredi de la justice tunisienne.
M. Baccouche a cependant démenti que la libération des employés consulaires était le fruit d’un marché.
Déjà en mai, les partisans de M. Glib avaient enlevé 254 Tunisiens pour monnayer sa libération. Tous avaient été libérés sains et saufs au bout d’une dizaine de jours sans qu’il ne retrouve lui la liberté.
Puis le 12 juin, une milice armée, a investi le consulat tunisien et enlevé dix de ses fonctionnaires.
Les ressortissants et intérêts tunisiens sont régulièrement visés en Libye, comme d’autres représentations diplomatiques étrangères. Un diplomate et un employé de l’ambassade tunisienne à Tripoli avaient déjà été détenus en 2014 avant d’être libérés.
Depuis la chute du régime de Mouammar Kadhafi en 2011, la Libye est déchirée entre différentes milices armées. Deux gouvernements se disputent le contrôle du pays: l’un, reconnu par la communauté internationale, qui siège dans l’est du pays, l’autre à Tripoli sous contrôle de Fajr Libya.
La Tunisie ne reconnaît pas le gouvernement de Fajr Libya mais entretient néanmoins des relations avec lui à travers son consulat de Tripoli.
Par ailleurs, un groupe se réclamant de la branche libyenne de l’organisation jihadiste Etat islamique (EI), en plein essor en Libye, avait revendiqué en janvier l’assassinat de deux journalistes tunisiens, Sofiène Chourabi et Nadhir Ktari.
