Le club professionnel de L2, Clermont-Foot, avait créé la sensation le 7 mai dernier en annonçant avoir engagé une entraîneuse portugaise Helena Costa. C’était une première en France alors que jusqu’ici tous les clubs professionnels français ont des entraîneurs. On avait eû un court précédent en Italie en 1999 avec Caroline Morace avec un club de série C Viterbese mais qui démissionnera deux matchs plus tard à cause de la trop forte pression médiatique. Cette annonce avait suscité de nombreuses réactions dans les milieux féministes, qui considèrent le monde du football comme machiste et mysogine. Certains ont parlé d’une normalisation du monde du football. La ministre des sports Najat Vallaud-Belkacem y avait même vu l’avenir du football français. Helena Costa avait déclaré vouloir être jugé sur ses résultats sportifs. Elle avait entraîné entre autres les équipes féminines du Qatar et de l’Iran.

L’histoire entre le Clermont-Foot et Helena Costa a tourné court très vite. Le club a annoncé hier que l’entraîneur avait démissionné et rompu son contrat, la veille de l’entraînement de reprise. En conférence de presse, Helena Costa n’a pas tenu à donner la raison de ce départ précipité, la veille d’un moment crucial, expliquant qu’elle en avait parlé au président et invoquant des raisons personnelles. Son agent sportif, Sonia Souid, était très remonté : « Je ne reconnais pas l’Helena Costa qui s’est présentée devant nous il y a un mois. On s’est retrouvé face à un mur, elle avait déjà pris sa décision. Je suis en colère et triste pour toutes les autres femmes qui auraient voulu être à sa place. Je suis en colère car c’est une décision égoïste. » Le président du club Claude Michy a jugé sa décision : « étonnante, irrationnelle, incompréhensible. Elle a simplement dit ‘je m’en vais’. Elle part avec son secret. C’est une femme, elles sont capables de nous faire croire un certain nombre de choses. » Bref que ce soit l’agent ou le président, personne ne peut donner l’explication de ce départ précipité, peu professionnel.

Pour l’instant, le club a démarré avec son entraîneur-adjoint. Claude Michy a déjà reçu 45 demandes de coachs qui se sont proposés pour entraîner le club mais il ne semble pas avoir renoncé, malgré son amère expérience, à faire appel une femme. Il aurait appelé Corinne Diacre, ancienne internationale française et première femme à avoir obtenu le DEPF (diplôme d’entraîneur professionnel de football) en mai dernier. On attend donc la prochaine annonce surprise de Clermont-Foot.
