Les investisseurs chinois prennent possession d’une grande part de l’Afrique. Le cas de l’Ethiopie est très symptomatique. Les usines chinoises s’y multiplient. Mais les méthodes de travail qui y règnent ont de quoi surprendre. A y regarder de plus près, l’Ethiopie semble être devenue une colonie chinoise.
L’Ethiopie est désormais surnommée « le nouveau tigre de l’Afrique ». Mais les chinois font régner l’ordre et la discipline militaires dans leurs usines.
Ce reportage, filmé dans la capitale Adis Abeba, montre l’arrivée matinale des ouvriers dans une nouvelle usine. La journée commence toujours pas un cours de discipline plutôt musclé. Les patrons chinois imposent leur méthode. « La dernière fois je vous ai déjà montré comment faire. Faut-il que je le redise encore une fois ?« , invective un directeur.
Tous les matins ces ouvriers éthiopiens doivent se plier à une série d’exercices de gymnastique. En rang, bras le long du corps, marche synchronisée. Ils travaillent pour une société de fabrication de chaussures. « On va réviser les slogans« , lance un directeur. « La ponctualité ? Arriver trop tôt ? Etre en retard ?« . A chaque question, les ouvriers doivent scander la réponse en chinois. Les Ethiopiens ont dû apprendre les réponses par cœur.
Les chaussures bon marché de ces usines sont à destination de l’Europe et des Etats-Unis.
