Le général iranien Hamid Taghavi, en mission en Irak, en tant que conseiller dans la lutte contre les djihadistes de l’Etat islamique (EI), a été tué au cours d’une attaque menée par l’Etat Islamique à 110 km au nord de Bagdad. L’information a été annoncée ce dimanche par communiqué des Gardiens de la révolution islamique, l’armée d’élite du gouvernement iranien.
« Le brigadier général Hamid Taghavi est tombé en martyr lors d’une mission pour conseiller l’armée et les volontaires irakiens pour lutter contre les terroristes de Daech [traduction arabe de l’EI] dans la ville de Samarra », selon le communiqué des Gardiens de la révolution publié sur leur site officiel, Sepahnews.com.
