Les autorités turques ont signalé que différents consulats situés dans la ville d’Istanbul étaient sous un niveau de menace élevé.
Les services de renseignement turcs ont découvert que le groupe djihadiste Etat islamique avait l’intention d’attaquer différents consulats à Istanbul, rapporte le quotidien turc Daily Sabah sur son site Internet. Les consulats cités sont notamment ceux de la France, de la Belgique, des Etats-Unis et de la Syrie.
Des mesures de sécurité supplémentaires ont été prises dans les consulats en coordination avec les services turcs.
Selon le journal Daily Sabah des membres de l’Etat Islamique ont effectué une mission de reconnaissance dans les différents consulats. Sous le prétexte d’une demande de visa, ils sont entrés dans le bâtiment, afin de détecter les faiblesses dans la sécurité.
