Selon l’Etat Islamique, la base aérienne américaine de Ayn al-Assad – en Irak – aurait été bombardée par les djihadistes. Durant l’attaque, sept soldats américains auraient trouvé la mort. La base située dans la province sunnite d’Al-Anbar est le deuxième plus grand aéroport utilisé par l’armée américaine en Irak.
Les autorités américaines ne font aucun commentaire au sujet de cette attaque. Selon certaines sources irakiennes, l’Etat Islamique a bien attaqué cette base aérienne et aurait perdu plusieurs centaines d’hommes durant l’attaque.
L’annonce de la mort de sept soldats américains a été reprise par différents médias italiens, dont la RAI.
Par ailleurs, l’Etat Islamique a également annoncé avoir abattu un autre avion de la coalition internationale et avoir capturé un second pilote. L’information a été reprise par Aljazeera.
Mais ici encore, pas de commentaire du côté américain.
