Décidément, c’est tout un château de cartes qui s’écroule ! Encore une fois, après Rajmund Roman Polanski, après « Woody » Allen Stewart Konigsberg, après Harvey Weinstein, après Robert Weinstein, après Eliezer « Elie » Wiesel, après James Toback, après Mark Evan Halperin, après Jeremy Samuel Piven, après Steven Frederik Seagal, après Roy Price, après Brett Ratner et après Dustin Lee Hoffmann, c’est une nouvelle personnalité israélite qui tombe pour viol.
Le gagnant du jour est Howard «Howie » Rubin, 62 ans, qui selon le New York Post du 3 novembre, avait violé au moins trois femmes, dont deux playmates du journal Playboy… Rubin avait déjà eu son heure de gloire en 1987 quand il avait planté de 250 millions de $ la banque d’investissement Merryl Lynch dans une affaire de courtage de crédits hypothécaires. Ce « respectable père de famille », fraîchement retraité de l’empire Sörös (il travaillait chez Bear Stearns mais aussi au Soros Fund Management), louait une suite haut de gamme de 8 millions de $ du Metropolitan Tower pour s’y livrer à des orgies sadomasochistes avec des prostituées qu’il payait entre 2000 $ et 5000 $ la séance. Seulement, il a excédé les termes du « contrat », et violemment battu et violé les donzelles après les avoir ligotées et bâillonnées que ces dernières ont dû recevoir des soins médicaux sérieux, à tel point que l’une d’elle en eut un retournement de prothèse mammaire, Rubin la payant 20.000 $ pour qu’elle se taise.
Rubin était obsédé par l’inceste comme beaucoup des siens et, en battant une de ses victimes, hurlait « je vais te violer comme si je violais ma fille ! ». Charment personnage à qui est demandé la coquette somme de 27 millions de $ par le Tribunal de Brooklyn…
