Belgique – L’arrivée de 210 immigrés demandeurs d’asile dans deux bâtiments de la petite commune de Walcourt inquiète la population locale. Les immigrés s’installeront dès la semaine prochaine dans deux anciens homes à Chastrès et à Thy-le-Château. Hier soir avait lieu la première réunion d’information organisée par les autorités communales à l’école communale de Chastrès. La population a fait entendre sa colère. Christine Poulain, bourgmestre PS de Walcourt, a eu bien du mal à dire quelques mots sous les chahuts. Le représentant de Fedasil, Abraham Moureau, a été empêché de prendre la parole. Le fossé entre pays réel et pays légal était manifeste. Des habitants ont proposé la création d’une milice privée pour assurer la sécurité du village, d’autres ont proposé de porter plainte contre les demandeurs d’asile pour qu’ils se fassent expulser, d’autres encore ont demandé que les immigrés soient enfermés dans ces centre et gardés sous surveillance de la police. La tension était forte, les autorités politiques se bornant à affirmer que la décision était déjà prise. La police est intervenue pour calmer la foule.
