Job’s Daughters International est une organisation de jeunesse maçonnique pour les filles et les jeunes femmes âgées de… 10 à 20 ans. L’organisation est communément appelée simplement Job’s Daughters et parfois abrégée en JDI (ou IOJD , en référence à son ancien nom, International Order of Job’s Daughters).
Les fillettes ou adolescentes qui postulent à l’adhésion à Job’s Daughters doivent être liées à un franc-maçon ou, tout au moins, être parrainées par un franc-maçon.
Cette entité maçonnique pour enfants débute véritablement ses activités en juin 1923 : les Filles de Job avaient été approuvées par les Grands Chapitres de l’ Ordre de l’Étoile de l’Est dans l’Indiana, le Maryland, le Minnesota et Washington DC. Lors de la troisième réunion annuelle du «Conseil suprême des gardiens» à Chicago, le 12 octobre 1923, des délégués étaient présents, venus de vingt-trois États, ainsi que de l’Alaska et du Manitoba . En 1931, le nom a été changé en l’Ordre international des filles de Job après qu’un Bethel (un « chapitre » local) ait été institué à Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique.
Ces enfants évoluent selon un rituel de l’Ordre et «sous la direction générale de l’ordre maçonnique».
Cette structure est essentiellement présente en Australie , au Brésil , au Canada , aux Philippines et aux États-Unis . Aux États-Unis, elle est installée dans 31 états.
