Les djihadistes de l’État islamique (EI) ont pris le contrôle jeudi dernier du champ pétrolier d’Al-Omar dans l’est de la Syrie, un des plus grands du pays, après le retrait de combattants rivaux, selon l’Observatoire syrien des droits de l’Homme (OSDH). L’EI contrôle désormais la majorité de la province pétrolifère de Deir Ezzor, où se situe Al-Omar, ainsi que la majorité des champs pétroliers dans cette région. Avant la révolution, ce champ pétrolier produisait 30000 barils par jour. On ne sait pas s’ils tiendront longtemps ce champ pétrolier mais après l’argent récupéré, c’est une nouvelle source de revenus important qui est aux mains de l’État Islamique.
