Les deux journalistes français ont-ils été égorgés ? Cette information émanerait du préfet de Kidal au Mali.
« Des militaires de l’opération Serval ont retrouvé la journaliste Ghislaine Dupont et son cameraman Claude Verlon à 12 km à l’est de Kidal, égorgés, et non pas criblés de balles, par leurs ravisseurs, qui a ajouté que « les ravisseurs sont en ce moment encore poursuivis en hélicoptères par les forces françaises Serval. »
Il est possible de retrouver facilement cette information en tapant sur Google les mots codes : New York Times french journalists slit throat. Plusieurs sites se sont fait l’écho de cette information.

La même information se retrouve par exemple en Grande Bretagne sur le Daily News November 3, abcnews et sur des sites africains comme euro jihad.
Tous les textes sont rédigés de la même manière et semblent effectivement avoir une origine commune. Pourquoi cette information a-t-elle été cachée et probablement censurée par le Quai d’Orsay ? Peut-être pour ménager les familles qui apprendront de toute manière tôt ou tard la vérité. Mais plus vraisemblablement pour ménager les tenants de « la religion d’amour, de paix et de tolérance » que représente l’islam.
