L’organisation indépendante Access Info Europe a dévoilé les montants des dépenses de voyages des commissaires européens, mais elle n’a pu les obtenir que pour les deux premiers mois de 2016. Pour les autres mois de 2016, la Commission européenne a refusé de divulguer les chiffres, ce qui laisse penser qu’elle n’a communiqué que la période de dépenses les moins élevées.
Sur deux petits mois (janvier et février 2016), les 28 commissaires européens ont dépensé environ un demi-million d’euros en frais de voyages.
Il s’agit de 261 déplacements officiels dans 26 pays de l’UE (y compris pour les sessions au Parlement de Strasbourg) et 23 pays non membres de l’UE.
Les éléments les plus marquants sont :
. 75.000 euros pour un déplacement à Bakou (Azerbaïdjan) de Federica Mogherini, deuxième vice-présidente de la Commission européenne et Haut représentant de l’Union pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité, avec un avion affrété tout spécialement pour elle.
. 26.351 euros pour un aller-retour à Rome en avion-taxi de Jean-Claude Juncker, président de la Commission européenne, les 25 et 26 février 2016.
. 51.000 euros pour le vol ramenant Jean-Claude Juncker du sommet du G20 en Turquie.
