OREO s’associe au lobby LGBT pour lancer des cookies arc-en-ciel en édition limitée. Les cookies arc-en-ciel OREO ne sont pas disponibles dans les magasins et ne peuvent être obtenus qu’en partageant une photo sur Twitter ou Instagram démontrant être « allié » au mouvement homosexuel à l’aide des hashtags #proudparent et #giveaway.
Pour ce projet de propagande LGBT, OREO est partenaire de PFLAG.
PFLAG a vu le jour au début des années ’70 quand une mère marchait avec son fils dans ce que certains considèrent comme la première gay pride, Christopher Street à New York. A l’origine, il s’agissait de créer une organisation de parents qui soutiennent l’homosexualité de leurs enfants. PFLAG signifie «Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays».
Le site Web faisant la promotion des cookies arc-en-ciel OREO déclare que «depuis plus de 100 ans, OREO rassemble les familles».
«C’est pourquoi nous avons lancé un partenariat avec PFLAG, la plus ancienne organisation alliée LGBTQ + du pays, pour créer #ProudParent, une initiative d’un an conçue pour mettre en lumière le puissant impact que l’amour et l’acceptation peuvent avoir sur les jeunes LGBTQ +», poursuit-il.
