L’équipe de football de Croatie, dénuée de tout multiculturalisme, a même osé afficher des convictions nationalistes après avoir gagné sa médaille d’argent à la Coupe du Monde de Football.
Les joueurs sont apparus sans complexe avec le chanteur nationaliste croate Marko Perkovic dit Thompson (référence à l’arme du même nom) lors de leur parade dans les rues de Zagreb.
Marko Perkovic est devenu une icône en Croatie en apparaissant en 1991 l’arme à la main et le chapelet autour du cou sur la ligne de front.
Dans ses concerts, il n’hésite pas à lancer le “Za dom spremni”, le salut oustachi. Les vices-champions du monde de football ont donc des convictions nationalistes assumées qui font plaisir alors que d’autres servent à vanter le cosmopolitisme.
