Les comédiens François Berléand et Gérard Jugnot, le judoka Thierry Rey, Maryvonne Pinault, épouse de François Pinault, l’ex-ministre Jean-Claude Gayssot, François Delahaye, directeur des opérations de Dorchester Group (palaces Le Plaza et le Meurice) et le grand rabbin de France Haïm Korsia deviennent officier.
Tom Enders, PDG d’Airbus est nommé commandeur.
Le peintre Pierre Soulages est lui élevé à la dignité de grand’croix.
Pour devenir membre de la légion d’honneur, il faut avoir été proposé par un des ministres du gouvernement. Chaque membre du gouvernement a son contingent de candidats.
