D’ici 2 ans, 7 au plus, l’Inde dépassera la Chine comme pays le plus peuplé du monde. Les dernières données de la Chine montrent que le Céleste Empire a un taux de natalité anormalement bas, ce qui est également le cas de tous ses anciens vassaux. L’indice de fécondité de la Chine est de 1,18, plus haut que celui de Taiwan (1,12) et de la Corée du Sud (mais inférieur aux autres. Hong Kong est à 1,23 ; Macao à 1,28 ; le Japon à 1,41 ; La Corée du Nord à 1,97 et la Mongolie à 2,64).
Aucune province chinoise ne dépasse les 2,1 enfants par femmes. La plus prolifique, si on peut dire, est celle de la région autonome Guangxi (tout au sud) avec 1,8, suivie de près par sa voisine du nord, le Guizhou, avec 1,75. Ce sont les deux seules entités qui dépassent les 1,6 enfant par femmes.
Dans la fourchette 1,4 à 1,6, nous avons la région autonome du Xinjiang (Sinkiang), Anhui (1,49), le Hunan (1,42) et le Yunnan (1,42). Les deux dernières sont également au sud de la Chine.
Dans la fourchette 1,2 à 1,4, des provinces plutôt situées dans le centre la Chine. Le Qinghai (1,37), la région autonome du Ningxia (1,36), le Hubei (1,35), le Hebei (1,31), le Henan (1,3), le Jiangxi (1,29), le Gansu (1,28),
Une grosse partie de la Chine dépasse à peine l’enfant unique : la municipalité de Chongqing (1,18), le Shandong (1,17), le Fujian (1,12), le Shanxi (1,1), le Sichuan (1,09), le Guangdong (1,08), la région autonomie de Mongolie Intérieure (1,06), le Shaanxi (1,06), la région autonome du Tibet (1,05), le Jiangsu (1,04), et le Zhejiang (1,02).
Les grosses mégapoles chinoises, tout comme cette ville indépendance sinisée qu’est Singapour (0,9), est en-dessous de la barre de l’enfant unique par femme. C’est également le cas des provinces créées à partir de l’ancienne Mandchourie… Les municipalités de Tianjin (0,91), Shanghai (0,73) et Beijing (0,71) et sont au même niveau que les provinces de Jilin (0,75), Heilongjiang (0,74) et Liaoning (0,73).
