Jeudi matin à Nice, Philippe Pradal, premier adjoint du maire LR Christian Estrosi, a planté symboliquement avec des imams un « olivier de la paix », sur le lieu de la future mosquée qui sera construite sur un terrain de 3000 m² dans la Plaine du Var.
L’élu a également signé une convention, autorisant les musulmans à occuper un local de 500 m² comme lieu de prière provisoire.
Les équipes de télévision France 3 Côte d’Azur avaient été conviées par les imams à assister à la cérémonie mais à l’arrivée des journalistes, les autorités municipales leur ont signifié que la cérémonie n’était « normalement pas ouverte à la presse ».
Christian Estrosi et ses adjoints semblaient donc vouloir rester très discrets sur ce nouveau projet.
Rappelons que le maire Christian Estrosi est par ailleurs connu pour son sionisme affiché.
