Royaume-Uni – Le quotidien Daily Mail, citant une source gouvernementale, révèle que l’auteur de l’attentat suicide de Manchester qui avait fait 22 morts en mai 2017 était un « réfugié » sauvé par la marine britannique.
Salman Abedi, d’origine libyenne, faisait partie des 110 personnes évacuées par le navire britannique HMS Enterprise et conduites à Malte en août 2014, selon le journal.
Il s’était fait exploser, à l’âge de 22 ans, à la sortie d’un concert de la chanteuse pop américaine Ariana Grande à Manchester (nord-ouest de l’Angleterre), tuant 7 enfants et 15 adultes. « Que cet homme ait commis une telle atrocité sur le sol britannique après avoir été sauvé de Libye est une pure trahison », a commenté une source gouvernementale citée par le journal.
Selon un ami de la famille Abedi, cité par le Wall Street Journal l’an dernier, Abedi s’était rendu en Libye avec son père en 2011 pour se battre aux côtés d’une milice de Tripoli en lutte contre le régime de Mouammar Kadhafi.
