Belgique – Depuis six mois, c’est un robot qui tient compagnie aux pensionnaires d’une maison de repos d’Ostende, cité balnéaire flamande.
C’est en décembre que « Zora » – le robot a reçu un prénom – a fait son entrée à la maison de repos « De Boarebreker ». Zora est un robot humanoïde d’une cinquantaine de centimètres de haut commercialisé par la société belge QBMT. Son allure pourrait laisser croire que Zora sort d’un dessin animé. Il marche et parle. Sa mission est polyvalente car c’est un robot doté d’une « intelligence artificielle » déjà fort développée.
Le matin, il lit le journal à voix haute aux pensionnaires. L’après-midi, il montre les mouvements de gymnastique que doivent reproduire les personnes âgées. En fin de journée, c’est encore lui qui tire les numéros du Bingo.
L’humanoïde joue également aux échecs. Mais surtout, il est capable de tenir une conversation personnalisée avec les pensionnaires. Ses réponses sont adaptées aux propos qu’on lui tient. Et pour les prochaines versions de ce robot, il devrait être possible de lui choisir un éventuel accent patois pour favoriser le sentiment de proximité chez ses interlocuteurs.
Un autre robot humanoïde du même type est également testé depuis plusieurs mois dans le département « enfants » d’un hôpital gantois.
Ce robot intelligent se vend actuellement 25.000 euros. La société belge qui les produit a déjà reçu des commandes d’Allemagne et des Pays-Bas.
La science-fiction se fait chaque jour un peu plus réalité…
