Uruguay – Des organisations laïcistes et des mouvements gauchistes mènent campagne contre le président de l’Uruguay, Tabaré Vazquez, parce qu’il a affiché publiquement sur la porte de sa résidence présidentielle un drapeau « Noël avec Jésus ».
Ce drapeau, que l’on voit accroché à de nombreux balcons dans les rues de toutes les villes de l’Uruguay, a été conçu dans le cadre d’une campagne réussie lancée par Cardinal Daniel Sturla, archevêque de Montevideo, pour rappeler le véritable sens de la célébration de Noël.
Certaines organisations gauchistes et laïques critiquent vivement l’attitude du président décrite comme une prétendue « violation de l’État laïque ». Malgré cela, la famille Vázquez continue à afficher « Noël avec Jésus ».
