L’Église d’Argentine a réuni le peuple argentin qui ne veut pas de la loi sur l’avortement dans la basilique de Lujan pour prier et montrer aux sénateurs qu’une majorité de la population, et donc de leurs électeurs, est contre le projet de loi approuvé le mois dernier à la Chambre.
L’évêque Oscar Vicente a déclaré à la foule réunie que « ce serait la première fois que serait dictée en Argentine et en temps de démocratie une loi qui légitime l’élimination d’un être humain par un autre être humain. »
Sur l’esplanade de Lujan, il y avait également une bonne partie du mouvement de prêtres des villas miseria ou curias villeros qui s’est engagé contre l’avortement certainement au plus grand étonnement des partisans de la loi. Ce qui démontre bien que ce ne sont pas les pauvres qui demandent l’avortement mais bien les classes bourgeoises.
