Le Festival de Cannes fait son show avec un pape François reconverti en star du cinéma !
Le jésuite en blanc sera le protagoniste central d’un film-documentaire “Pope Francis. A man of his word” (Le pape François, un homme de parole), réalisé par le registre allemand Wim Wenders. Le pape François se racontera directement aux spectateurs sur les thèmes qui lui tiennent à cour et qui sont l’écologie, les migrants, le consumérisme ou la justice sociale.
Le film actuellement en phase de post-production a été annoncé hier au 70e Festival de Cannes. Il est le fruit de la collaboration entre Wim Wenders et monseigneur Dario Edoardo Viganò, préfet du Secrétariat pour la Communication du Saint-Siège.
« Le pape François, commente le réalisateur au Service Information Religieuse, est un exemple vivant d’un homme qui se bat pour ce qu’il dit. Le pape dans le film s’adresse directement aux spectateurs, sans distinction de foi ou de culture, avant tout parce que le message de François est universel. »
« Le pape à travers le cinéma, a expliqué de son côté Mgr Viganò, a voulu entreprendre un nouveau chemin pour arriver à la communauté tout entière, faite de femmes et d’hommes de foi et culture différentes, désireux de répondre à leurs demandes. »
Le 25 mai prochain, toujours au Festival de Cannes, Wim Wenders et Mgr Viganò, dévoileront d’autres aspects du film au cours d’un dialogue sur Cinéma et spiritualité, événement organisé par le « Festival Sacré de la Beauté ».
“Pope Francis. A man of his word” sera distribué au niveau international par Focus Features du groupe NBCUniversal, et est produit notamment par le Centre Télévisuel Vatican.
Il n’est pas dit pour l’instant si le Christ, dont le pape François est le Vicaire, sera le centre de ce documentaire…
