Le pape François, dans sa dernière homélie du mois de septembre, a mené une intéressante réflexion sur le rôle des anges et des archanges dont c’était le mois durant lequel ils sont vénérés. Leur rôle est de combattre Satan. Comment ce dernier mène-t-il son combat ? « …Tant et tant de projets de déshumanisation de l’homme sont l’œuvre de Satan, simplement parce qu’il hait l’homme. Satan est astucieux : la première page de la Genèse nous le dit. Il présente les choses comme si elles étaient bonnes, mais son intention est la destruction ». Sa tactique est la suivante : « Dans ses projets de destruction, il invente des explications humanistes qui vont totalement à l’encontre de l’homme, à l’encontre de l’humanité et à l’encontre de Dieu. »
Nous pensons bien évidemment à tous les sujets « sociétaux » qui nous préoccupent : avortement, euthanasie, manipulations embryonnaires, PMA, GPA, etc. Ceci principalement quand le plaisir personnel supplante désormais le droit à la vie. « La lutte est une réalité quotidienne de la vie chrétienne : dans notre cœur, dans notre vie, dans notre famille, dans notre peuple, dans nos églises … Si on ne lutte pas, nous serons défaits », affirme le pape. Bien évidemment nous le suivons sur ce sujet.
Mais ce sens de la lutte contre Satan ne se voit malheureusement guère encouragé par les évêques français. Aucun d’entre eux ne figurait à la manifestation de Civitas visant à défendre les martyrs chrétiens d’Orient. Alors qu’une grande majorité des manifestants de LMPT sont catholiques, non seulement cette démonstration de force ne se réfère pas à Dieu et encore moins aux anges. Le comble est que plusieurs mauvais pasteurs sensés mener le troupeau se sont désolidarisés de celui-ci. Il s’agit d’évêques, qui en même temps prétendent promouvoir le laïcat dans l’Église.
