Sadiq Khan, le musulman élu nouveau maire de Londres, a annoncé au Jewish News qu’il envisageait de mener une délégation commerciale en Israël.
Dans l’entretien qu’il a accordé à Jewish News, Sadiq Khan a également souligné son intention d’améliorer les relations entre juifs et musulmans à Londres.
Le premier acte officiel du maire musulman de Londres fut d’assister samedi à une cérémonie du Jour du souvenir de l’Holocauste en présence de Mark Regev, l’ambassadeur d’Israël, et du grand rabbin.
C’est le même jour qu’il accordé un entretien à Jewish News.
« (…) je suis impatient de montrer que je suis le maire le plus pro-entreprises que nous ayons jamais eu et que cela signifie aller en missions commerciales, y compris à Tel Aviv », a-t-il déclaré.
Il faut préciser que Sadiq Khan a été impliqué dans deux organisations, Coexistence Trust et Alif Aleph, dont l’objectif officiel est l’amélioration des relations judéo-musulmanes.
