D’après une étude de la SIPRI datant de 2016, la liste des 100 premières entreprises d’armements comprend : 42 entreprises états-uniennes, 13 russes, 7 britanniques, 6 françaises, 5 sud-coréennes, 4 japonaises, 3 israéliennes, 3 allemandes, 3 indiennes 2 italiennes, 2 européennes, 2 turques, 1 singapourienne, 1 suédoise, 1 polonaise, 1 ukrainienne, 1 australienne, 1 brésilienne, 1 suisse et 1 canadienne. Seuls les noms des entreprises ayant vendu plus de 2,5 milliards de $ de matériel en 2016 sont mentionnés.
– Plus de 40 milliards de vente : Lockheed-Martin (USA) : 40,8.
– Plus de 20 milliards de vente : Boeing (USA) : 29,5 ; Raytheon (USA) : 22,9 ; BAE Systems (GBR) : 22,8 ; Northrop-Grumman (USA) : 21,4.
– Plus de 10 milliards de vente : General Dynamics (USA) : 19,2 ; Airbus (EUR) ; 12,5

Notons que faute de données, il n’y a aucune entreprise chinoise, mais selon le SIRPI, il y a entre 9 et 10 firmes d’armement chinoises qui pourraient figurer dans le Top 100…
