Un fait divers a retenu l’attention de la presse belge. Il se déroule à Nivelles, dans le Brabant wallon, et concerne une femme quinquagénaire, Liliane qui se rend en visite en prison, chaque semaine, pour voir son fils, détenu à la prison nivelloise.
« Je fais toujours attention à ce que je mets. C’est une prison d’hommes, avec une salle de visite remplie d’hommes. Je ne veux pas attiser les regards. Si j’y vais, je suis en pantalon et sans décolleté », précise Liliane.
Mais lors de la canicule, cette mère de famille s’est présentée à la prison avec une robe « longue, vraiment très longue », « sans décolleté, mais avec des bretelles. Mes épaules étaient donc découvertes ».
Mais l’islamisation des prisons a entraîné une surprise pour Liliane qui a été abordée par une gardienne qui lui a signifié qu’elle ne devait plus se présenter ainsi.
« Elle s’est justifiée en me disant que d’autres femmes de détenus ne voulaient pas voir une femme aux bras dénudés dans la salle de visite, a fortiori en période de ramadan », explique Liliane. « La gardienne a ajouté qu’il vaudrait mieux que je le fasse, parce que mon fils pourrait en subir les représailles.»
« Je me sentais violée dans mon intimité, traitée comme une fille de rue (…) J’en veux à ceux qui dirigent et qui imposent ce genre de règlement. Je ne comprends qu’on fasse une règle absolue applicable à tout le monde pour ne pas choquer une minorité ».
