Durant le mois d’août 2016, le Grand Orient de France a été l’objet d’un piratage informatique. Très rapidement, certains sites ont proposé de copier tout ou partie de 14 Go de données saisies chez les francs-maçons.
Mais le Grand Orient de France affichait un incroyable déni, assurant ses membres qu’aucune donnée sensible n’aurait pu être accessible.
L’obédience maçonnique fait maintenant marche arrière, contrainte d’avouer à ses « frères » que les informations « pillées » ont été plus importantes qu’annoncé.
Ainsi, la lettre Netori datée du mercredi 16 novembre avoue
« Par lettre d’information en date du 14 novembre, nous t’avons informé qu’après réception du fichier de 14 Go de données piratées en date du 26 août 2016, nous étions en train de faire un inventaire complet de son contenu. A ce jour, nous sommes en mesure de t’informer qu’on y trouve, outre des candidatures spontanées, des planches, des fichiers de la Fondation du Grand Orient de France, un fichier de 37.473 adresses courriel (en date du 8 juillet 2014), sans référence nominative et les fichiers (datés de juin 2014) de 59 loges, comprenant les coordonnées de 2.728 adhérents (nom, prénom, grade, matricule, adresse courriel, tel. portable, tel. domicile) et celles de 3.597 anciens adhérents (nom, prénom, matricule et motif du départ). »
De quoi inquiéter quelques milliers de francs-maçons dont l’appartenance à une société secrète pourrait bien finir dévoilée sur la place publique.
